Gifts for Thoughts

This week was designated for shopping. I found the most amazing shops with precious thoughtful items. My favorite was a pair of boxers for boys potty trained plus. Yes boxers, not briefs. This shop owner can even have them monogrammed. I enjoy passing on items like these for gifts. Parents are always wowed and want to know where to find more. New Traditions

I hope everyone had a very happy Thanksgiving Holiday and ready to move into the Christmas Holiday spirit. This year we started a new tradition. We prepared a Thanksgiving brunch with breakfast sides and dinner entrees to make sure we could spend intimate family time at home and still have dinner with friends later that evening. The idea was exceptional. We had our cake and ate it to! I think this could work for Christmas with a little menu tweaking.

Season Layers

I am ecstatic about styling with amazing sweaters as the fall to winter season is slowly settling in. Layering little ones with cool sweaters and a top coat, can guarantee they won't get chills indoor or outdoors; keeping them comfortable and fabulous.

Fall Fun

As trees are in full color splash for a new season, it can be fun to go out with the kids and collect a rainbow of leaves. Great activities can be built around the leaves’ colors, shapes, and sizes. Also point out how an insect probably had a nice snack from leaves that have tiny holes. Creating treasure hunts with your child's favorite items like play jewelry and animals peaking from under a pile leaves will keep them excited about the changing season.

Styling Accessories

One of my favorite style tactics is accessorizing. It's easy to overlook this fashion piece for kids. Although finding the perfect clothes are definitely a must, to push it over the top, outstanding accessories will do the job. I found these really cool items that hit this upcoming season trend spot and they are practical as the cold weather is approaching. Your child will not lack style or fun with these additives.

You may think boys are more difficult to style with accessories; just check out these winter deals

Can girls get any cutier and cooler at the same time? Oh my goodness, it's possible!!! :)

Coveting Candles

My daughter totally adores parties. An invitation gets her so excited she wants me to sit down and help her write a response stating "I miss you so much". Her main concern on the way to the party is will SHE get to blow out the candles!!
If you have to constrain your little one from blowing out someone else’s candles at a birthday party, try explaining to your child why they are going and how special the host thinks he/she is to invite them to help celebrate the day the host was born; besides that, it would be unfair if someone else blows out their candles. Another idea is to light candles days before or all week to settle their urge to embarrass you : )

Sticker Shock

Favors are a big deal in my book. It is the host immediate offer of thanks and appreciation to guest for joining in the celebration and for bringing thoughtful gifts. I particularly prefer practical favors; not the bulk knickknacks that I have heard some moms describe as hazardous or clutter pieces. Whether you are on a strict budget or big budget, favors can always be thoughtful, practical and age appropriate.
My family attended a special birthday party and this mom gave away scratch and sniff stickers. Wow! I must have been in middle school since I've seen a scratch and sniff sticker. They are perfect and adorable! I am amazed at how much kids like stickers not to mention one that smells like lemons and strawberries. Keep in mind to make your favors thoughtful and fun no matter the budget.
